When you purchase a product at the supermarket, you trust
that the people who sell the product aren’t lying to you. Truth telling is essential
for authentic communication to occur, and makes genuine interaction between
people possible. We live in a world where we communicate based on what
people tell us. When we talk to our friends, family teachers and even strangers
all we have is what they tell us. We can never truly know if what they are
saying is 100 percent true. Another big factor is our news outlet, Internet and
radio. We communicate through these and get our information through these
people. We depict what we believe to be true and false. Now a days I feel as if
people are more concentrated on what gets peoples attention rather then what
needs to be heard. They are quick to give stories that get them attention such
as Steve. People have become so selfish that all they care about is themselves
and how they can advance in life. We see this in politics, in our media and
just basically our everyday lives. We watch the news and don’t even know what’s
right or wrong because every station has their own agenda. Its sad to see how
our society is becoming as a whole and I know that it will only get worse. No
one cares about the truth anymore.

Something Exciting
Something exciting that has happened to me would be that I was finally able to get a Saturday off from work and head down to Pittsburgh to visit my friends family. I have never gone to Pittsburgh before nor have I ever driven more then 2 hours in my car. It was a win win for me! I was finally able to experience the adrenaline rush you get when you go to a new place and of course I was able to experience the down fall of an adrenaline rush where you crash from how physically and mentally tired you are. Driving to Pittsburgh I was able to see lots of land, mountains, the sun setting, Penn State and an awesome jail! I mean come on, how often do you get to ride through a jail and see signs to clock all doors and make sure your windows are up! Im a simple girl and I love sight seeing so just the drive in the car alone was exciting for me. When we finally arrived to Pittsburgh it kind of reminded me like home. There are more stores, more people, more cars and just a lot more going on then what you see out here in Wilkes. See I'm a city girl, I was raised in Manhattan my whole life so Pittsburgh kind of gave me that home feeling. Now Pittsburgh reminded me of home but it will never be home. The streets are so narrow, although I think thats just a Pa thing because the narrow streets happen in Wilkes-Barre as well. But enough about that overall my trip to Pittsburgh was something new and exciting. I saw lamas, cows, horses, bulls and many other animals in the back of peoples houses. I think its pretty awesome to see so much nature around me. I look forward to going to Pittsburgh again along with many other cities and states! Just to think theres so much more I have yet to see!
